The MAJ Piercing Studio is ready for bookings, and we can’t wait for you to stop by! Here’s everything you need to know about the complimentary ear piercing experience at our Melanie Auld boutiques.  

 

What can I expect at my piercing appointment?

 

- Select an appointment time through the virtual booking tool and pay the $25 deposit. This is required at time of booking and can be applied towards any purchase of piercing stud(s). 

- Make sure to arrive 5 minutes early with valid photo ID! 

- You or your legal guardian will fill out the waiver form. 

- Select piercing studs (up to 4 piercings allowed per session).

- Time to get pierced! This will take 5-10 minutes per piercing and your piercer will use a single-use, sterilized piercing needle.

- All guests will receive an aftercare card and our piercer will be available to answer any questions you may have!  

How do I book an appointment?

How much does it cost to get pierced?

 

Piercing at Melanie Auld is complimentary with the purchase of one of our piercing studs! Prices per stud range from $120 to $250. Please note that our stud pricing for piercing is inclusive of the autoclaving process which ensures your piercing units are sanitized and safe for piercing. 

 

Which jewelry can I get pierced with?

 

You can choose from a selection of 14k yellow gold piercing studs which all feature a flat back for comfort and durability during the healing process. 

What type of ear piercing can I get done at the studio?

 

Our industry professional piercers offer ear piercings anywhere along the lobe, helix or flat cartilage. This being said, our piercer reserves the right to deny any piercings or piercing placement as they see fit. 

 

Is there an age restriction or any other restrictions for piercing?

 

We limit piercing to those ages 5 and over. However, anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal parent or guardian who must have I.D proving that they are the legal guardian. Additionally, we will not pierce anyone who is pregnant or nursing. 

 

How do you ensure safety and hygiene measures are in place?

 

Your health and safety are top of mind when it comes to our piercing process at the MAJ studio. Our piercers use a 20-gauge hypodermic and sterilized needle and only sterilized, autoclaved, and specifically packaged studs for all piercings. For this reason, we cannot do piercings with previously purchased studs or hoops.  

What should I do (and avoid doing) before an appointment?

 

Make sure you have a light snack and hydrate before your appointment! Also, don’t forget to bring a license or other form of photo ID.  

 

How do I care for my new piercing?

 

Aftercare Instructions

 

• Piercing aftercare is important in order to promote proper healing and to prevent the risk of infection.  

• Healing times will vary from person to person and depend on how well the piercing is cared for. 

 

Cleaning Instructions

 

• Wash your hands thoroughly with soap before cleaning your piercing and avoid touching it at all other times. 

• Spray both sides of the piercing with the MAJ aftercare saline spray.  

• Allow the solution to saturate your piercing for 30 seconds and gently dab the piercing and surrounding area using a clean piece of paper towel. 

 

Keep in mind

 

• A new piercing may be tender, itchy, and slightly red during its first few weeks of healing. Be mindful when doing any physical activity, as any knock or bump to the pierced area can cause swelling or soreness during the healing phase.  

• We recommend avoiding swimming for at least eight weeks after getting a new piercing.
